Anbu Devandran

Dear Princess,

This is Anbu. He is an iguana. He's only 2 months old, Bagyam.

You have to help Appa look after him. He's a vegetarian, so we need to feed him vegetables everyday, and once a week, we have to feed him a hibiscus to nourish him.

He also needs to bathe once a week in lukewarm water.

Once Anbu is big, he will be the guardian for Thambi and you.........

Bagyashri Takes the Plane

Kutty Girl,

Today you flew for the first time in an aeroplane.

You were very brave, and really behaved so well.

Hope you enjoyed the elephant ride in Krabi too. You were amazing, not even being a little afraid of the elephant .........not afraid to feed the elephant...............not afraid of your first boat ride!

Brave like Appa

Hugs,
Appa

Little Bagi

Dear Bagyashri,

You are 96cm and growing today!

You are singing your own distorted version of "1 little, 2 little, 3 little Indians" and some Bhajan - so much that I cannot remember how many times i have to tell you to stop.

..............and you are extremely naughty! tearing paper and leaving it in a heap in the hall, jumping from sofa to sofa......etc etc etc etc.......

My goodness......your mother is right - we have three boys!

Hugs,
Appa

Bagyashri stays in the hospital- TWICE!

Dear Bagyashri,

You were hospitalised once on the 14-19 March and then again from 1-6 April for pneumonia.

We're not too sure how you got it, but it scared the hell out me and your mother.

We should mention here that both times, your Ammama came down from Temerloh to be with you in the hospital. This was probably also because your mother was in tears whenever she talked to her mother( tsk tsk, shaking my head).

The second admission caught us by surprise, and you were on the nebuliser very often while you were in the hospital.

The doctor said you were so easily affected because you were too thin. I suppose 9kg ( and 84cm)  for an almost 2 year old is quite on the small side.

I pray that you'll be a stronger girl now, Kutty girl. We'll be feeding you S26 from now on, so please grow fatter.

Hugs,
Appa

The rolling baby says...."Appa"

Dearest Kutty Girl,

You said Appa today....not Amma.....LOL. I don't think your mother was very amused.

You seem to have discovered that rolling is a way to move from one place to another. you know, your brothers never really rolled, they just started crawling.

So when are you going to move forward? Seem like you're taking your own sweet time. your brothers were already crawling at your age.

They also blew the bubbles like you are doing now, but I think you're making the most bubbles of all.

And did I mention that you have grown to 64 cm? And that you've put on some weight, you're 6.5kg today. And when you smile that little piggy laugh of yours, your eyes are just two slits. Your mother's genes are showig I guess =) LOL again.......

Hugs,
Appa

Bagyashri's 30th- minus the bald head=)

To my little girl,

You'll always be the princess at home.Your Amma's queen of course, no denying that=).

So, you had your 30th day prayers today, but you didn't get your hair shaved like your brothers because your 30th day fell on Aadi Ammavasai day. So the 30th day prayers was held on the 31st day of your life, the day on which your hair was supposed to be shaved according to Ceylonese custom. Your Amm's been very particular about this.

Anyway, we've decided that we'll shave your hair in about three months or so. Can't wait to see the shocked looks on your brothers' faces when they see someone shaving your hair off. I just hope they don't beat the barber!

Did I mention that you have the least amount of hair among the three? Funny....I can't wait to see you in pigtails and pony tails......hmmm....I wonder if your Amma will allow you to grow your hair. She always seemed to want to put a clip on Sakkti velan's and Eshvarhen's hair.

Alright, kutty, Appa will write soon. Grow quickly, so you can add to the noise pollution at home. After getting used to it, the silence actually becomes eerie when your brothers are not banging the table, screaming or crying. God and love work in mysterious ways, kutty, trust your old man on this one.

Hugs,
Appa
